Ready for Adoption! Derry

Derry is an OR for personal reasons. He is 8 years old, 15" and 26#, UTD, neutered and HW/fecal -.

An update from Derry's foster mom: Derry is a beautiful, super sweet boy who is extremely timid. He prefers closed in, cozy, hiding places. He has recently found, though that the couch isn't such a scary place and spends a lot of time there. I can usually approach him there, and he will stay if I sit or lie down with him. He is a good cuddler. He is not confrontational and likes being brushed. He is housetrained, good with other dogs, cats and people but won't approach them. He is very reluctant to be outside but walks quite well on a leash. If I am visiting with a neighbor while on a walk, he will lie calmly at my feet and allow folks to pet him. Derry is making progress each day and coming out of his shell - a bud about to flower into a handsome happy fellow! Are you the person who will guide him?

Ready for Adoption! Champ

Champ is an OR due to his owner going into a nursing home. He is 11 years old, 16 inches, 26 pounds, now UTD, neutered. Champ is HW/fecal -/housetrained.

From his foster mom: Champ is so beautiful when he walks in the backyard; he PRANCES around the yard, and reminds me of a show horse! Indoors, he likes to be near his person. He's a little shy at first, but warms up when he gets to know people and feel at home.

Ready for Adoption! Molly

Molly had 7 puppies, all boys! They are now 4 months old, have had all of their vaccinations and are neutered. We completed a Wisdom Panel DNA test on one of the pups, which showed the puppies are 1/2 Sheltie (no surprise!), 1/4 Cairn Terrier, with the rest "mixed." The puppies are now available for adoption. We are working other interest as quickly as we can. If you have an application in, expect to hear from us soon. If you haven't put in an application yet, and you're interested in adopting a puppy, get your application in NOW!

Molly's Magnificent Seven!

Molly had 7 puppies, all boys! They are 14 weeks old, have been to the vet and received two sets of vaccinations, and are growing like weeds! We completed a Wisdom Panel DNA test on one of the pups, which showed the puppies are 1/2 Sheltie (no surprise!), 1/4 Cairn Terrier, with the rest "mixed." The puppies are now available on foster-to-adopt contracts. UPDATE: Bogie, Levi and Tonka are available at this writing. We are working other interest as quickly as we can. Ready for Adoption! Sophie

Sophie is from a local shelter. She is ~10 years old, 15 inches, is now down to 32 pounds, UTD, spayed, HW/fecal -. Sophie had a much needed dental and is now ready for her forever home.

An update from Sophie's foster mom: Sophie is a very sweet, friendly dog.  She is housetrained and I do not crate her, as she is very well behaved and does not bother anything in the house.  She likes to follow me around and will lie down near me wherever I am.  She has learned to sit for meals and "low calorie" treats, and she walks well on a leash.  She gets along fine with other dogs and has done well at the Meet and Greets.  She has met other adults and children with no problems.  She is not shy.  She is a quiet dog, although she barks at thunder and when she is boarded.  We are working on weight loss, as she is about six pounds overweight.  Sophie is eager to provide love and companionship to her new forever home.

Lady

Lady is a found stray. She is ~4 years old, 16-17 inches, 44 pounds (needs to lose a few), is now UTD, HW+, fecal -. Lady will be spayed after completion of HW treatment and ready for adoption ~6/20. Lady is housetrained, easy going, loves her humans and other dogs.

Adoption Pending! Lacey

Lacey is from a local shelter. She is 8-9 months old, 14 inches, very lean at 13 pounds. She is now UTD, spayed, HW-, was treated for hookworms. Lacey will be available for adoption ~4/15.

An update from Lacey's foster mom: Lacey is a happy girl! She is fascinated by everybody and everything around and wants to check it out. She is full of puppy-play and gladly participates in plenty of run, chase, be chased, and tumble/wrestling games with the youngest of my resident dogs. She also likes to play ball. Lacey is very sweet and likes to settle down sometimes for hugging and belly rubs. Then she's off and running again. She gets along well with my resident dogs. She is very smart in that she is picking up some basic training instructions very quickly. She also does well in a large crate at night. Lacey's ideal forever home would be very active, possibly include mature children and another dog sibling to keep her busy. Lacey is a good candidate for agility, fly-ball, and everything done at top speed.

Sugar is a found stray. She is ~7 years old, 16 inches, 25 pounds, HW/fecal -, is now UTD, spayed and had a much needed dental. Sugar gets along great with other dogs and is easygoing.

Dakota

Dakota is a found stray.  She is ~5-6 years old, itty bitty at 12 inches, but at 23 pounds, needs to find the veggies and lose 6# or so!  She is spayed, now UTD, HW/fecal -. Dakota will be available for adoption ~5/24.

An update from Dakota's foster mom: Dakota is incredibly friendly - a real sweetheart!  She wants to be someone's best dog in the worst way and revels in any attention she can get.  She minds well, walks great on leash, is housetrained, learning sit and stay without problems.  Dakota sits still for bathing and grooming and loves playing with the resident dogs.  She is a delightful companion.
